“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and…kneeled upon his knees…and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” – Daniel 6:10 (KJV)
A True disciple of God always defeats the enemy or the odds, no matter how long it takes, because of their confidence in God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
The above Scripture indicates that Daniel knew that the king of the land had signed a decree against worshipping the True and Living God, and once a king made a decree, it could not be overturned. Thus, Daniel knew that if he prayed, it would cost him his life, but that did not deter him from continuing to pray, as he had previously.
In Matthew 26:70-75 (KJV), we read, ‘But he denied before them all, saying, “I know not what thou sayest.” This was Peter denying Jesus (as Jesus had told him), but God knew his heart and restored him.
Becoming a true disciple, therefore, requires boldness in the face of all adversity, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you in all righteousness, and remembering that there is a place for forgiveness for all those who believe in Jesus’s name.
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, if ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32 – KJV).
Knowing the truth entails knowing Christ and doing what He said (and is saying). It entails living a life pleasing unto Him in holiness.
Testimony
As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I had no idea you had to suffer like Him, be lonely at times, be rejected, and be lied to so that He could build character in you and shape you into the person He wants you to be. Yes, brothers and sisters, read God’s Word and live by It; allow Him to use you, and He will raise you up to follow Him completely.
